Once again this year’s school quiz was a huge success with 17 teams entered from schools all over North Tyneside. It was a close finish with Preston Grange Primary and Longbenton pitted against each other in a tie-breaker question ‘what year was the first Chocolate Egg produced?’ Longbenton got closest to the answer of 1875 and so came out victorious, being crowned this year’s quiz champions.

Lots of extra goodies could be won through the raffle and spot prizes. The money raised (£189) goes to Friends of the Durham Miners. This is the largest trade union gathering in Europe and the NASUWT is heavily involved in the organisation of this historic and cultural event held in the North East. Come along on the 8th July 2017 for a great day out of brass bands, fun fair and speeches.
